Hi! I have over fifteen years of experience as a professional commercial artist in the advertising field, and five years as an instructor of graphics and digital illustration at pratt institute, westchester community college, marymount manhattan and skidmore cci. I specializes in art nouveau influenced poster design, adverisements, package design and bookcovers.

I am a traditionally trained artist - graduate of pratt institute, summa cum laude (presidents award for academic excellence). A traditional background in art focuses on skills such as drawing and painting as well as perspective and color theory. This allows me to translate the client's concept into whatever media best suits the job - therefore I am a very versatile artist, who is not limited by any one medium.

Champagne Cthulhu on Kickstarter Now! by echo-x

From Echo

Help me create this gorgeous, romantic vision in time to be shipped in time for Valentines Day!
I dream of creating a new Cthulhu for my dessert Cthulhu series. The most recent, addition, Absinthe Cthulhu also tempts me to create alcoholic drink versions for the series.

Absinthe Cthulhu by Echo Chernik by echo-x

The sketches never do my pieces justice - I envision a strawberry blonde, with a low cut dress in the back. Her dress spills around and comes up around her like champagne being poured. Of course there are plenty of tentacles there to celebrate! This piece will have a beautiful light feel, and will have strawberries! Champagne (and Strawberries) Cthulhu by echo-x

Kickstarter has been very good to me. Among my previous Eight (8) Kickstarter successes are three art books and a Triptych in this same series.
When choosing which Cthulhu Pinup to create next, I was torn. Inspiration came like a popping cork! Champagne Cthulhu will the the ultimate in a romantic, beautiful touch. Subtle, bubbly, and with strawberries too.
With your help, I can create this masterpiece, and ship her in time to arrive before Valentines day! But time is short - so I am running a short kickstarter on this one. I will be posting updates as I work on her!
Launching New Years Eve - Arriving Valentines day! Help me bring her to life!!
I need your help to make her a reality! After you back, be sure to share the link with others - and I will create, with your help, the most lovely, sensual, romantic Cthulhu yet!

Thank you.

I start with a sketch, and then do a model shoot or collect reference. Then I do a drawing in graphite on vellum. From there, I scan it in and then paint in Photoshop and sometimes create elements in Illustrator and merged them in Photoshop. If I want special textures, I might find or create my own and scan them in to include in Photoshop. In my personal work, I will print out the piece as a Giclee onto canvas or art paper and then paint, varnish, and gild, on top of it.

Which class and where?
