That's too funny about its being stolen. You have an Art Nouveau-esque style, and Mucha's posters were often stolen, so I wonder if people knew the history when they snagged the posters (maybe not... big, gorgeous poster like that just up on the wall?) I bet more people went to see that opera, though. Beautiful work.
Not complaining about the thefts at all. I mean, how many artists do YOU hear about on the 10 o'clock news whose art was so coveted as to be stolen by the hundreds off city walls. The press was amazing! I wasn't even a well known illustrator then. Now if they stole it - I'd think they're stealing it for my name - but then they could only have been stealing for the art.
That's funny! I didn't know there were so many criminal opera fans out there. I saw that you actually had posters for sale, and since I see no opportunity to steal one for myself (j/k), I bought one!
